How do Solar PV panels work?
The sun gives off light, even on overcast days the photovoltaic cells on the panels turn the light into DC electricity, this then flows into an inverter which converts the DC electricity to AC so that it is compatible for normal use, this electricity is then fed through a meter and then into your home’s consumer unit where it can be used by you. Any excess electricity you have generated that is not used is either fed to the grid or into your battery storage system.
