DW Energy Helps Sight Support Worthing Exceed Fundraising Target

September 7, 2026

We are delighted to have pledged £600 to Sight Support Worthing’s Christmas Big Give campaign, helping the charity push beyond its initial £2,500 target!

That first target is an important step towards raising £10,000 through matched funding and fundraising activities, providing vital support for blind and visually impaired people across Worthing.

Sight Support Worthing has served the local community for 116 years. Its packed weekly calendar includes coffee mornings, accessible art, Tai Chi, gardening, keep fit, chess, walking groups and the Sussex Spitfires Showdown Club. Members looking for more of an adrenaline rush can also take part in activities including sailing, rock climbing, axe throwing, Go Ape and even skydiving!

Alongside the fun, the charity provides technology and scam-awareness sessions, counselling, benefits advice, advocacy and one-to-one transport to medical appointments.

During 2025 to 2026, Sight Support Worthing delivered:

  • 490+ counselling sessions
  • 335+ technology and scam-awareness sessions
  • 141 benefits support sessions
  • 209 sighted-guide lifts to medical appointments
  • Activities and events attended by 3,350+ people

Our relationship with Sight Support Worthing began through its commitment to achieving net zero by 2040. With the help of successful funding bids, DW Energy has installed solar panels, EV charging points, LED lighting and electrical upgrades at the charity's main headquarters. Sight Support Worthing has also introduced an electric minibus to help members get out and about, showing their commitment to making green choices!
