Kelgray Products
70% self-produced energy
A 53.9 kW DC solar PV system with 46.4 kWh of battery storage helped Kelgray generate, store and use more of its own electricity on site.
Installed in just 8 days
The project was completed quickly and safely with minimal disruption to a busy commercial printing premises.
ROI in under 4 years
The system is projected to deliver a 3.26 year discounted payback, with long-term commercial value beyond £600,000 in projected net present value.

Duchy of Cornwall
61.6 kW farm solar PV system
Installed at Lower Blakemere Farm, part of the Duchy of Cornwall estate, the system helps reduce reliance on imported electricity across a working agricultural site.
46.4 kWh battery storage
The installation includes 112 UKSOL 550 W solar panels, a SolaX three-phase inverter and eight SolaX Triple Power battery units.
Up to 90%+ self-sufficient on sunny days
The project was completed in 10 days and is now averaging over 45% self-sufficiency, rising above 90% on sunny days.

Linford Wood
415 kWp commercial solar build
DW Energy managed the build, site coordination, health and safety, testing and commissioning across three active commercial buildings.
750+ panels across three buildings
The project required careful planning around live site access, roof layout, deliveries, parking and safe material movement.
Delivered within six weeks
With more than 750 panels installed within six weeks, the project demonstrates DW Energy’s ability to deliver complex commercial solar work at scale.
What our commercial solar clients say
The installation was completed in just eight days and the team were excellent throughout. They kept everything on track, worked neatly and made sure the project was delivered without disrupting our operations.

Commercial Solar FAQs
Will installing commercial solar disrupt our operations?
Commercial installations are planned around your working hours, access requirements, deliveries, trading and site safety. In many cases, the business can remain operational while the roof work takes place.
If an electrical isolation, restricted access or temporary shutdown is required, this will be identified during planning and agreed in advance.

What if our roof is not suitable for commercial solar?
We assess the roof’s condition, structural capacity, available area, shading, access and fire safety requirements before finalising the design. If the proposed roof is unsuitable, we will explain why and explore alternatives such as another roof area, a smaller system, ground mounted solar or a solar carport where practical.
How much does commercial solar cost, and what is the typical payback period?
The cost and payback period depend on the size of the system, roof and access requirements, grid connection, battery storage, on-site energy use, electricity tariffs and funding route.
We use your available energy data to model the installation cost, forecast generation, projected savings, payback period and long-term value. This provides a more reliable assessment than applying a standard payback figure to every site.

Do you manage DNO applications and G99 approval?
Yes. We assess the grid connection requirements, prepare and submit the relevant DNO or G99 application, respond to technical queries and coordinate any connection conditions with the system design.
Approval and timescales remain with the local Distribution Network Operator. If export limitations or network upgrades are required, we will explain the implications before installation proceeds.

Can we add commercial battery storage later?
Yes, in many cases commercial battery storage can be added later, subject to the electrical capacity, grid connection, controls, available space and safety requirements.
If battery storage is likely to be needed in the future, let us know during the initial design so we can make the solar system as upgrade ready as practical. We can also compare installing both systems together with phasing the investment.
