DW Energy accreditations and certifications
DW Energy, registered as DW Renewable Energy Limited, holds independently governed credentials covering electrical competence, renewable energy installation standards, consumer protection and commercial procurement.
These include ECA membership, NICEIC Approved Contractor status, MCS certification, RECC membership, recognition through the Chartered Trading Standards Institute Approved Code Scheme and Constructionline Gold membership. Each credential is explained below, together with what it means for buyers and an official verification source.
Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) membership
DW Energy is a member of the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA), a trade association representing electrotechnical and engineering services businesses. ECA membership requires businesses to meet recognised technical assessment routes and core criteria covering trading history and liability insurance.
What this means for commercial buyers
ECA membership provides additional reassurance that DW Energy operates as an established electrical contractor with independently assessed technical competence and appropriate business safeguards. This is particularly relevant when appointing a contractor for commercial solar, battery storage, EV charging or electrical infrastructure.

NICEIC Approved Contractor
DW Energy is registered as a NICEIC Approved Contractor. NICEIC assesses electrical contractors against the requirements of BS 7671, the UK standard for electrical installations. Its assessment covers technical work, qualified supervision, equipment, business processes and insurance.
What this means for commercial buyers
This provides independent assurance that DW Energy has been assessed as competent to undertake electrical work, including commercial and industrial installations, inspection and testing. It supports safe, compliant delivery across renewable energy and wider electrical infrastructure projects.

Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS)
DW Energy is an MCS-certified contractor for relevant renewable energy installations. MCS defines and maintains quality standards for low-carbon products, installation contractors and completed installations.
What this means for commercial buyers
MCS certification shows that qualifying solar PV installations are delivered through an independently assessed quality framework. An MCS installation certificate can also provide evidence required by energy suppliers when customers apply for eligible Smart Export Guarantee payments for electricity exported to the grid.
Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC)
DW Renewable Energy Limited is a member of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code. RECC sets standards for businesses selling or leasing small-scale renewable energy systems to domestic consumers, covering marketing, quotations, contracts, installation, guarantees and after-sales service.
What this means for buyers
RECC is primarily a domestic consumer protection credential rather than a commercial procurement accreditation. However, membership demonstrates DW Energy’s commitment to clear information, responsible sales practices, appropriate guarantees and effective complaint handling throughout the customer journey.

Chartered Trading Standards Institute Approved Code Scheme
The Chartered Trading Standards Institute Approved Code Scheme was previously known as the Consumer Codes Approval Scheme, or CCAS. It approves and audits sector-specific consumer codes that meet recognised standards of customer protection.
DW Energy’s connection to the scheme comes through its membership of RECC. The RECC Code has held approved status since 2007 and is regularly audited by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute. This is not a separate technical installer certification.

Constructionline Gold membership
DW Energy is a Constructionline Gold member. Constructionline Gold is a supplier pre-qualification credential designed to help businesses meet recognised construction industry requirements, including the Common Assessment Standard.

For main contractors, commercial organisations and public-sector procurement teams, Gold membership provides a validated supplier record and can simplify supply-chain onboarding and pre-qualification. It demonstrates that DW Energy has supplied information covering key areas of business and construction compliance.
